Can other people still use the stairs once a stairlift is fitted?

Most modern stairlifts are designed to be compact in design and are perfect for narrow staircases. All the stairlifts we stock feature folding seats, arms and foot rests that can be folded up when not in use (some models are as compact as 12" in depth when folded). This enables plenty of space and does not obstruct the staircase which in turn leaves plenty of room on the stairs for people to pass - even on the narrowest of staircases.
