About the centre: The William Merritt Centre is located at Aire House, 100 Town Street, Rodley, Leeds, LS13 1HP. The centre contains all types of mobility equipment to try for all practical aspects of daily living for disabled people of all ages, their carers, professionals and older people. Visits to the centre are free but by appointment, tel 0113 350 8989. Equipment displayed include Kitchen equipment, High seat chairs, Riser recliners, Stairlifts and through floor lift, Bath lifts, Bath boards and seats, Bath steps and rails, Toilet and continence aids, Hoists and moving and handling equipment, Beds, Manual wheelchairs, Powered wheelchairs. Mobility scooters, Pressure relief and Wheeled walkers.

What they do: They provide impartial information, advice and assessments. Occupational Therapists are available at the centre to discuss your needs and requirements. They also offer self referral and car access outreach driving assessments.

Stairlifts you can try: Looking to try a straight or curved stairlift in the Leeds area and can't make it over to our premises in Keighley? Then the William Merritt Centre is the ideal place to go and try out a stairlift - the facilities are excellent.

Currently you can try the following straight stairlifts: Stannah Stairlift, Minivator Stairlift and a Thyssen Stairlift. For curved staircases, you can try out a Stannah Curved Stairlift.

As well as being able to try out the stairlifts for practicality and adaptability, you'll also be provided with helpful information from the Occupational Therapists at the centre. On my visit, Rachel was the Occupational Therapist on hand and she was very helpful and informative.
