Are stairlifts installed on the wall or steps

"Are stairlifts fitted to the wall?" is one of the most frequently asked questions we get at Unicorn Stairlifts. Also, we have a lot concern regarding possible damage to the staircase from a stairlift installation.

The good news is there is really nothing to worry about when it comes to this issue. All modern stairlifts run on a track which is fixed directly to the stairs treads themselves and not the wall – meaning there’s no need to be concerned about damage to your home decor.

The fixing of the track to the stairs tread offers a more secure and reliable attachment than the wall. It also doesn't cause damage to your home or to your walls, regardless of whether you need a curved or straight stairlift.
