A pre-owned stairlift will be fully refurbished, tested rigorously, deep cleaned and will only be ready for installation in your home once we are happy with the performance, safety and cosmetic condition.

How we recondition stairlifts...

We are extremely proud of the high quality our engineers achieve when reconditioning used stairlifts, so to give you an insight, here is our reconditioning process (you can watch the video or read below)

Step 1: Buy quality

We purchase the very best pre-owned stairlift models on the market which excel in reliability and build quality. When purchasing pre-owned stairlifts we make sure that they are the very latest and up to date models currently available. In fact, a lot of the used stairlifts we purchase have sometimes only been used a small number of times. We buy used stairlifts from residential properties only.

Step 2: High Quality Reconditioning

Our skilled, qualified stairlift engineers carry out meticulous preparation when reconditioning used stairlifts in our fully equipped workshop.

Every used stairlift we purchase under goes an in-depth reconditioning process before they are ready to be installed. All major parts such as over speed governors, batteries, PCB’s, motors and rollers are either fully reconditioned or replaced with brand new parts.

All internal and external parts of the pre-owned stairlift are fully serviced and professionally cleaned throughout including the outer casings and upholstery.

Tracks are also fully reconditioned. They are cleaned, re-sprayed with racking and fixtures replaced. Stairlift tracks are bespoke and cut to the exact length for each stairlift installation. If we don't have a suitable used stairlift track in stock then we will often use brand new ones.

Step 3: Test, test & test again

We ensure that our quality assurance is of the highest level. Rigorous testing begins once the reconditioning process is complete. Each reconditioned stairlift is tested under load with all operational parts put to the test.

Parts tested include arm controls, remote controls and swivelling mechanisms.

Also we test all safety elements including sensors, electrical braking systems, safety belts and final limits.

We also test the durability of the batteries and the ride quality as well as many other aspects of the reconditioned stairlift.

Once we are happy with the quality and performance, the reconditioned stairlift is repackaged and ready for installation in your home.

Step 4: After service

We are extremely confident in our reconditioned stairlifts and once installed we offer warranty as standard covering parts, labour and call outs.

This is backed up by our excellent spare parts facility which stocks all major parts and 24 hour response service.
