Curved staircases can vary considerably, so giving a firm price online can sometimes be difficult without seeing the actual stairs.

What is a 90° staircase?

Below are pictures of stairlift tracks installed on staircases that feature a 90° bend or turn. When we design a track for a 90° staircase, the 90° bend can be either at the top, bottom or middle and can be installed on the left or right hand side of the staircase - we can tailor the design to suit any staircase configuration.

Obviously curved stairlift tracks are bespoke so can be designed to any design you like including multiple bends and longer lengths however this does change the base price hence all our products listed as "from".

Cost options

We offer a number of options to suit people's budgets and requirements including new, reconditioned and rental. Our curved stairlift options are as follows:

Rental from £80.00 per month

Renting a curved stairlift can offer a flexible and cost effective option when only required for a short period of time. They come with a continuous warranty, 24 hour response service and removal. Also, if you find that the rental stairlift is needed longer term, we offer a discounted buy-out scheme when required. An installation fee of £950.00 is required when renting, the only other cost is the £80.00 monthly payment.

Reconditioned from £2,500.00

From only £2,500.00 (based on a standard 90° staircase), our reconditioned models offer large savings when compared to buying new. Curved stairlifts we offer as "reconditioned" have previously been used (sometimes not for very long periods) and then fully reconditioned before installation.

We recondition the stairlift throughout, this is carried out by our reconditioning specialist department. When this process is complete, the stairlift looks and works as you'd expect when buying new. Brand New From £4,800.00

From only £4,800.00 (based on a standard 90° staircase) you can have a brand new, latest model curved stairlift. We order new stairlifts in advance so that we have them in stock for express delivery, other companies order them directly from the manufacture which can mean longer waiting times. Also buying a new stairlift directly from an approved supplier like ourselves is cheaper than buying directly from the manufacture thanks to lower overheads.

Why are curved stairlifts more expensive than straight stairlifts?

Straight stairlifts are suitable for only standard staircases which have no turns, bends or corners and run from top to bottom in a straight line.

Curved stairlifts are designed for staircases that have a turn, bend or corner to reach the top of the stairs / landing.

Because of their lower costs, if a straight stairlift will work in your home, then this is often the best option and will save you money. But if you have a curved staircase, it is likely that you will need a curved stairlift.

Curved stairlifts are more expensive than straight stairlifts due to the carriage which often looks aesthetically similar but differs internally and contains sophisticated mechanical components allowing it to move around corners. The main cost however, is the bespoke curved rail which the carriage runs on. The cost to manufacture a curved rail is significantly higher than a straight rail. This is due to the fact the curved stairlift rail is manufactured specifically to the configuration of your staircase. A straight stairlift rail is relatively cost effective in comparison and is usually just to cut to the length of the staircase.
